Lithium Batteries, Motorcycle GPS & Riding With Foreign Bikers

Phuc Lam from Shorai Inc, and also an avid motorcyclist, explains lithium batteries in this episode.

Shorai LFX batteries are up to 80 percent lighter than equal performance lead acid batteries, which can mean saving anywhere from 2 to 20 pounds, depending what kind of bike you ride. They operate at a higher voltage range and maintain a higher voltage level during cranking, which means your motorcycle starts more quickly.

When we were putting together this episode, part of the plan was to talk to someone who had to use their inReach for the purpose of rescue. And while searching for someone with a story, we experienced a rescue mission of our own.
