At Canoe West Media (referred to as CWM), your privacy is important to us. In this Privacy Policy we explain what information is collected from you and how that information might be used when you visit any and all CWM’s websites and mobile applications, including but not limited to beyondashadow.org, adventureriderradio.com and backroadwanders.org (referred to as the “Websites”).

INFORMATION CWM COLLECTS

When you visit our Websites, you are mostly in control of the personal information you supply to us or can choose not to access our Websites. When you send an email, make a contribution, subscribe to CWM podcasts, sign up for one of our newsletters, fill out one of our forms (Contact, Advertising Request, Support, SoundOut, Survey) to CWM, we only collect the information necessary to fulfill our obligation to you. If you choose not to provide us with your personal information then we may not be able to fulfill our obligation to you. When you choose to contact CWM in any way, you are doing so of your own accord.

DATA AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVED

When you access any of our Websites, we receive information automatically, including date and time of visit, IP address, device type, browsers, operating systems, source referrals and country. This information is used to analyze trends to help us improve podcast delivery and our Websites.

INFORMATION COLLECTED ON FORMS

When you fill out any of our Websites forms, we may collect the following information including: first and last name, company name, email address, mailing address, telephone number and other information requested on the forms.

CONTRIBUTIONS

Contributions to any of our podcasts are made through PayPal, Stripe and Patreon. We receive only the information necessary to fulfill our obligations to you including, name, address and email. EMAIL POLICY

CWM does not turn over your email information to a third party without your permission, unless in the circumstance where CWM is sold, or there is a change in control such as a merger or bankruptcy proceedings.

HOW WE USE AND SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We collect information from you so that we can fulfill our obligation to you when you make a contribution to us, or when you purchase a service from one of CWM’s podcasts or Websites.And to provide information that you may have requested from CWM or one of our podcasts or Websites. We may use your personal information to contact you about your contribution, or request, or if we require more information to fulfill an obligation. We may send you information about CWM or one of our Podcasts or Websites. We use your personal data to provide better podcast delivery or to improve one of our Websites. We may use personal information you have given to us to research for podcast episodes and to share on our Websites.

SHARING WITH THIRD PARTIES

CWM does not sell or share any personal information to third parties for marketing purposes or otherwise. However, when you send a contribution, fill out a form, send us an email, these third party service providers access your information to process a contribution payment or to provide a service. 

LEGALLY REQUIRED SHARING

If legally required we may share your personal information if there are legal proceedings such as a subpoena, legal process, law enforceable request, investigation and enforcement of violations of our Terms of Use, to protect ourselves, our users or the public from legal actions by third parties, fraud, security issues and technical issues.

DISCLOSURES TO CWM/PODCAST SUCCESSORS

If CWM or part of it is sold or there is a change in control such as a merger or bankruptcy proceedings, your personal information may be transferred to the new business or controller. Your information will remain subject to the terms of this privacy policy, as well as to any changes made by the new business, unless you agree differently.

SOCIAL MEDIA/COMMUNITY

CWM does not monitor or filter what is posted on third party hosted social media platform or forums. If you choose to post on on these platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, then you take full responsibility for your personal information as it is not protected by our privacy policy, nor can we assume any liability. Any comments you make on our website or social media platforms can be viewed worldwide on the internet. CWM is not able to protect the use or misuse of your comments or postings.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY PROTECTION

CWM’s Websites are designed for legal adult listening and usage, we do not knowingly collect information from underage children or allow underage children to listen to our podcasts or access our Websites. If an underage child participates in a CWM program, we obtain permission from the parent for usage. If your underage child has, without parental consent, contributed to or registered for CWM’s programs in any way, please contact us. We may request proof of identification before removing personal information to prevent an act of maliciousness. CWM will delete information for an underage child should we discover it. CWM does not verify the age of our users.

CORRECTION / REMOVAL OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Please contact us should you have any questions about the personal information we have about you. If you are signed up for our newsletter, you can choose to opt-out of receiving emails or the newsletter from CWM. We keep personal information only as long as needed for reasons including business activities, or our obligations to you. Although CWM will make every effort to delete your personal information when no longer required, it may not always be possible to delete all personal information completely, for example in backups. 

INTERNATIONAL USER TRANSFER OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

It may be necessary to transfer and process your personal information internationally and, particularly in Canada and the United States. European Union Residents: the EU has not found personal data protection in other countries to not be as comprehensive as the EU. CWM takes steps to protect your privacy as described in this privacy policy. By accessing and using CWM Websites, you are agreeing to having your personal information used as described in this privacy policy.

POLICY CHANGES

Canoe West Media reserves the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time. If changes are made, we will notify users of the changes by posting them on our website. If these terms and conditions are not agreeable to you, then please do not access the Websites.
