Unfortunately for motorcyclists, braking is not as easy as just pulling on one lever and stomping on another. The new driver of the mini van in front of you will stop just as fast, if not faster than your motorcycle. And all they have to do is stomp on the brake pedal. For riders, you’ll need to use all of your skills to stop in that same distance. They’re not intuitive, they must be learned.

On this episode of ARR’s exclusive Rider Skills, instructor Walt Fulton from Streetmasters Motorcycle Workshops, walks us through maximum braking on a motorcycle. It’s easy to learn and just takes some practice. Mastering this will make you a better, safer rider and add another tool to your Rider Skills Tool Box™.
