Yesterday’s Travel

I was recently listening to an older ARR RAW podcast (episode 33) and Grant was saying how when he went back on his first trip they had no information on how to get from country to country, crossing borders and what not. I have heard from a couple other guests how “back in the day” they just jumped on a bike and left without any information.

I am wondering, is it possible today, with all the information from the internet and social media etc, to have that style of adventure, or would that be considered irresponsible?

I admire those who did it that way pre-internet and would love to set out on a trip with no more than a destination in mind or just the idea of that I want to travel North and South America on my bike.
