58: The Essential Entry Level Guide to Overlanding by Motorcycle

motorcycle_travel.jpg

Sorting out how to get started is often one of the most difficult parts of any adventure. Just about every rider who’s done an extended trip by motorcycle will tell you about the places they’ve seen, the cultures they’ve been immersed in and the friends that they’ve made. And while the stories may be what inspires you to travel, what you really need to know at the outset is how to plan a trip, what to expect on the road, how to handle situations and more.

Some motorcyclists like to travel on a schedule and some like to just ride by the seat of their pants. Either way, it’s always good to have some knowledge before setting out on an adventure. You can find tips on travel in books, blogs, articles and here, on our monthly RAW podcast. Our regular co-hosts and guest, Michelle Lamphere, are experienced motorcycle travellers who have come together this month to talk about what every rider new to overlanding should consider before setting out on their first expedition.
